thethirty-seventhhour:

A take-away installation, Andrew Ranville’s Future Island consists of a small sapling which grows directly into water. Biodegradable air pillows enable the structure to float as the plant takes root in the stream bed of the waterway where it has been placed. Over the course of 10-15 years the sculpture will grow into an island. A diagrammatic illustration accompanies the sculpture outlining the concept.
